Wildflower Village Community Association
Hello all,

I have a much more in depth message coming out covering a variety of topics but I wanted to let everyone know that we have reached an agreement with Astound internet to bring Fiber Optic into the neighborhood.  I am sure many of you have already noticed the markings from UGI and PAWC for water and gas.  The utilities are ahead of the game and were not originally going to begin marking before July 5th but since they are already doing so I wanted to get the message out.

We have a tentative start date of July 12th for the installation to begin.  The plan is to start with Aster and Buttercup off of Packer Ave and move through the development from there.

We will be having a ZOOM meeting with Astound to answer questions and provide additional details, that date will be coming soon.

Some additional information that I (Lance) at this time:

  1. Yes Astound is optional.  They are coming into the neighborhood just like Comcast and Verizon.  They are an OPTION.   Choose whomever you would like to have provide internet to your home.
  2. They will be digging in the common areas between houses and running their fiber optic lines. They will have “doghouses” similar to what Comcast has and also ground level “vaults” in various locations to connect from to make future runs to the homes easier than running from the main “doghouses”.
  3. If you are interested in getting it, they can also run it to your home but only if you ask for it.  You can have the line run, and then decide later not to have the service turned on, there is no cost to you.
  4. The yellow lines, blue lines, paint, flags, etc … are all part of the PA One Call to mark utilities before work begins so the contractor does not dig them up.
  5. They will be repairing areas where they work back to the way it was before the work started.
  6. I have no idea what the service costs, you need to contact Astound.
  7. I have no idea what TV lineups or packages they offer, again you will need to contact Astound.

Hopefully this answers most of the questions.  Anything else hopefully can wait until we can have a Zoom call with Astound.
